Lent Meetings
Faith Under Fire: Facing the Dark
Three Wednesday evenings 3rd March to 17th March 7.45pmThe Conference Room, Mornington Road
Led by Rod Garner Session
Fee: £16 and £12 (retired/unwaged)
The Bible is written 'from faith to faith' and offers help and guidance when we are confused or perplexed.
More than this however, it is also associated with remarkable individuals who have much to teach us concerning what it means to hold fast to God in dark times when the light of faith burns low.
During these meetings we shall explore three important figures who in their different ways faced the most searching questions and still came through.
Taken together they show how faith copes 'under fire' and offer insight and wisdom as we some times struggle to see the light.
The meetings will help anyone to improve their knowledge of the Bible and their understanding of its central role in the life of faith.
3rd March Abraham: Knight of Faith
10th March Josephine Butler: A Fire on the Earth
17th March Job: Wrestling with God
